Tank House BBQ and Bar

Tank House BBQ and Bar is a great choice if you’re in the mood for some BBQ in Sacramento. This cozy restaurant is located in midtown and provides quick and friendly service that you’ll really appreciate. I found the staff to be accommodating and friendly and the atmosphere to be relaxed and enjoyable. The menu is full of great choices - you’ll have absolutely no issues finding something to chow down on for lunch or dinner.

As with many more contemporary restaurants, the menu is not huge, but there is certainly enough selection. The meat section consists of baby back ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and hot links. All the meats feature a signature smokey flavor that is infused into every bite. If you’re a fan of this, you’ll adore Tank House. If smokey flavors aren’t your thing, then you may want to veer towards the other items on the menu as the smokey taste and flavor are very up front and prominent.

The meat can be ordered a la carte, but the best way to order is probably by platter. Platters can feed a single diner up to 8! I love the names of the platters as they reflect exactly what you’d be getting. The single platter is called the Table for One and includes your choice of half pound brisket or a half rack of baby back ribs. This also comes with a choice of side. The Meat Treat serves two and you get two meat choices and two side choices. The Beast Feast and Midtown Chowdown serve from 3-8 and increase the items that are included. My recommendation would just be to count the number of people with you and do a platter!

If you’re looking to supplement the meal with something to share, their specialty plates will do the trick. They have an appetizer called Dirty Tots which includes tater tots covered with cheese sauce and topped with pulled pork and tangy BBQ sauce. There’s also a Dirty Mac which is their mac & cheese with smoked chicken. The Smokehouse Nachos were a huge hit at our table and provided more than enough for four people to share. We couldn’t even finish the thing!

If you’re coming for lunch or are craving a sandwich, the smoked meats also come in sandwiches. These sandwiches come specially made with ingredients paired specifically for each one. Some come with onion rings in them which others have coleslaw. Check out the menu to see what is in each sandwich they offer.

The Tank House has a full bar, so if you’re looking for a place to hang out and unwind after work, this can be that place for you. Getting a drink with an appetizer sounds like a great way to relax a bit before going home from a long day.

The Tank House has both indoor and outdoor seating. It can be a bit dark on the inside of the restaurant, so if you want a brighter experience, sitting outside would be your best bet in the evening hours.

The Tank House is for serious BBQ lovers and it’s awesome that Sacramento has a place like this to enjoy!
