Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

The future is here! Kura Revolving Sushi Bar gives every visitor a fun eating experience that is unlike any other in town.

First and foremost, Kura is a sushi restaurant. You’ll find favorites such as California, salmon, and rainbow rolls, but also hot foods like udon, tempura, and crispy chicken. The food quality at Kura is good, but not at the level of the very best sushi restaurants. If you’re looking for the best in Sacramento, you’d probably want to go to Mikuni’s or Kru. Kura is a place where you get to have fun while you eat!

The main attraction at Kura is the way food is delivered to you. Every seat and booth is next to a rotating conveyor belt of different sushi dishes. When one you see comes across you, simply grab the dish, pull up, and it’s yours! All the dishes are covered by a plastic bowl/lid so that the food is protected against contamination or germs. It’s a great system and it’s fun to see what comes by you next.

If you’re wanting something more specific, you can go to the touch screen menu above the table and order directly from there. The menu is easy to navigate and all you have to do is push on the item you want and tell how many orders of it you’d like. It’ll confirm and in a couple of minutes your order will come zipping to you on the upper level conveyor. I love hearing the little chime and seeing the food stop at our location - it is so cool! Hot food, soups, sushi… it’s all available this way.

If you’re thirsty, order a drink from the drink section of the touch screen menu and a robot will come and drop off your drinks. It’s wild. The robot has a little song that it plays as it nears you. I love the little beverage robot and would actually. like to have one for myself at home.

When you finish your sushi plate, simply slide it into the slot under the conveyor belts to clear the table. This allows the restaurant to count how many dishes you’ve eaten. It also counts towards a game you get to play that shows up on the screen.

It’s all about fun and the experience at Kura. It’s a restaurant that feels modern and is a hoot to eat at. It’s definitely worth a try at least once to see what the restaurant is all about.

If you’re planning to visit Kura, I suggest downloading their app on your phone. The app lets you join the waitlist and see how long it is until your table is ready. The wait can be a while at peak hours so this app is extremely helpful in saving you some time!
