Engawa Fusion

Engawa Fusion is a small little restaurant located on Stockton Blvd. It’s a small restaurant that’s not a part of the large strip malls in the area. It’s a little place on the corner connected to a smog inspection place. Blink, and you’ll totally miss it. But that’d be a big loss as you would’ve just missed an amazing little Japanese restaurant.

I found out about Engawa Fusion via Yelp search. I wasn’t really looking for Japanese food, but Engawa Fusion came up and the food looked amazing. It had fabulous reviews on Yelp and my curiosity just had to be satiated, so I grabbed the whole family and went off to try the place out.

I’m so glad that we made the trip. Engawa Fusion is a cute place that is very well taken care of. The atmosphere and ambiance is cozy, comfortable, and clean. It has a very welcoming dining room that puts you at ease when you walk in. Adding to the comfort was the hostess that had a great smile and positive vibe. We were seated right away and service was very snappy.

The menu here isn’t the largest, but it’s one of those places where everything looks good. For ramen loves, this is a must-go! The ramen portions are huge! I usually have to order an extra side of ramen to get full, but these huge bowls have enough noodles to satisfy. I tried their ‘main’ ramen which had peanut butter and cashews as ingredients! These added a savory taste to the ramen and was very good. I would have never thought peanut butter would be an ingredient in ramen… but here we are!

If you’re less adventurous or have a nut allergy, they also have classic ramen that is exactly what you’d expect. This ramen features delicate pork slices that have just the right amount of char on the edges. It was so tender and flavorsome! Heavenly!

One of the most unique items we got to try was the unagi taco. This item is a must get if you’d like to eat something truly creative! It features seaweed shaped into a taco shell with rice in it. It’s topped with some veggies and generous portions of unagi. It really is something to behold. If you are an eel lover, this is THE thing to get there.

If you’re thirsty, they have a very nice selection of milk tea drinks. I loved the ube and taro drink that I had. They also had seasonal drinks as well to keep the menu fresh.

I was more than impressed with Engawa Fusion. This little restaurant packs a big flavorful punch. I wish I lived closer to this place as it would be a restaurant that I would frequent very often.
