El Patio is a Mexican eatery that originates from the neighboring town of Woodland, Ca. It brings an authentic Mexican food experience with a few exciting twists to set it apart from other restaurants of similar ilk. You’ll find that the food, atmosphere, and price are all right at El Patio!
El Patio offers up the a number of Mexican food favorites such as tacos, burritos, and enchiladas with your choice of meat inside. The meat that you’ll get here is bursting with flavor and will instantly hit the spot if you are any kind of hungry. One of my favorite items at El Patio is exclusive just to this location - the Aggie taco. The Aggie taco is named after the folks over at UC Davis. This taco features a ‘cheese skirt’, a fried bit of cheese that provides a crunchy flavorful burst of flavor that has to be experienced. It’s my go-to item whenever I hit up El Patio. You will not regret getting one!
Quesabirria tacos have been gaining in popularity recently and you can find this delicacy right here at El Patio. With a quesabirria taco, you take the hard shelled taco and dip it into a consume broth before eating it. The birria meat and consume come together for a blend of flavors and textures that I really enjoyed. There aren’t too many places around Sacramento that has this item, so take advantage of El Patio and get your quesabirria fix here!
If you want something to share at the table, you can’t go wrong with either the El Patio fries or nachos. Both provide a healthy portion of food that would work well for 2-3 people. Grab a Mexican Coke or horchata and you’ll be good to go!
To top everything off, I found the staff at El Patio to be extremely welcoming and friendly. I don’t know the gal, but the cashier is always friendly and smiling and I always feel welcome when I come in to place my order.

El Patio is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Davis. In some ways it surpasses the original restaurant located in nearby Woodland. Remember… try the Aggie taco! It’s mind blowing!
