Bacon and Butter

I would be hard pressed to find a better place for brunch than Bacon & Butter. This restaurant brings it when it comes to the meal between breakfast and lunch. And it seems everyone in Sacramento knows it as the place is packed every single time you go there. The typical wait time is from 20-45 minutes depending on the time of day. So if you want to enjoy brunch here, make sure you plan ahead!

The menu at Bacon & Butter is a thing of beauty as there is so much on it that looks good. It would be so much fun to come on multiple days just to try everything out. The worst thing about some breakfast and brunch places is their limited selection of goods. I especially dislike it when every item is sweet - since I consider myself a savory person. Thankfully, Bacon & Butter has a number of choices on both sides of the spectrum. Actually, way more than enough to please anyone wanting something sweet or something savory.

For the breakfast lovers out there, there is a ton to choose from. Items like the flapjacks, pear & pecan french toast, and chicken and waffles may be right up your alley. On our visit, we added some fresh whipped cream to the flapjacks and it was heavenly as they did not skimp at all on the amount given. More unique items on the menu are their bee pollen and biscuit sandwich. The bee pollen is agave yogurt, granola, nuts & seeds, fresh & dried fruit, honey, bee pollen, and chia seed. It’s refreshing and is a great choice if you don’t want to feel weighed down after your meal.

The biscuit sandwich has bacon, caramelized onion, cheddar cheese skirt, chive mascarpone, and egg on a griddled biscuit. The flavors combine oh so well! You’ll be happy bite after bite.

And that’s the exact way I felt after having the b&b burger. I’d consider this item closer to the lunch side of brunch. This burger blew my mind as it was so delicate with flavors that just converged perfectly together into each bite. This burger has house ground beef with bacon IN AND ON, monterey jack, shallot rings, smoked aioli, arugula, and a brioche bun. This combination of ingredients was unique and just immediately opened up my appetite. There is no other burger like this one as the flavors form a taste that really can’t be found anywhere else.

There are A LOT of great burgers in Sacramento… and the b&b burger sits right at the top with the best in the city.

If you’d like a little something along with your main meal, Bacon & Butter has your back with some great sides. A side of bacon can never be bad, and if you’re feeling something more leafy… go for their salad!

If pastry is something you’re feeling, then find out what the current offerings are as they can change from time to time.

And if it’s not too early for a some adult beverages, Bacon & Butter offers cocktails like bloody marys, mimosas, irish coffees, and many other fun drinks.

Every time I go to Bacon & Butter I’m reminded of how amazing their food is. This restaurant is a hands down winner in my book. It’s a must go in Sacramento.
