Seoul St Midtown

If you’re looking for a trendy and nice place to take some friends after work, Seoul St Midtown is the perfect place to go. It’s located in downtown Sacramento across from Capitol Park and is right next to the Mix. The interior space is large and very well furnished, and it has a very elegant and modern design that is instantly inviting.

If you just need to get a drink afterwork, Seoul has a large drink menu and a full bar. I could definitely see Seoul St as a place to unwind and relax after a hectic day.

If you’re in the mood for food, Seoul St definitely has you covered. The menu isn’t huge, but the choices you have are impactful and you won’t have any trouble finding something that fits your fancy.

The first thing you need to know about the food is that it is fusion with the base being Korean. So for starters, you’ll find things like Soso fries that come with chopped bulgogi, gochujang aioli, green onions, and sesame seeds on them. You’ll also see on the menu galbi tacos and grilled chicken tacos. What really blew me away on the starters menu were the wings. I ordered the garlic soy wings and they had the most delicately crispy outside you could ever want. These wings were absolutely beautifully done and I can see myself ordering this dish every time I come here.

The hot skillets are mostly traditional Korean dishes that come with a number of side items - just as more traditional Korean places do. These dishes include a little side salad, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, broccoli with sesame dressing, pickled cabbage, and a little macaroni salad. These items are a great way to prepare for the main meal.

Speaking of the main meal, the skillets can come with galbi, bbq chicken, bulgogi, chili chicken, spicy garlic prawns, or tofu. I found that the skillets were presented very nicely with a healthy portion of food on the plate.

The specials at Seoul St have more of a fusion aspect to them. On my visit I had the galbi jjim. This short rib dish is topped with cheese. In fact, the cheese is melted for you right at the table with a blow torch. it’s a pretty cool thing to behold and to have the freshly melted cheese immediately really makes the dish stand out. Other specials include galbi baos, kimchi fried rice, dak fire, pork belly wraps, and Korean hot chicken.

Everything we had at Seoul St was delicious and full of flavor. The dishes certainly kept their Korean origins with some added flair with certain dishes. It was an amazing place to eat and certainly worth a visit!
