Marie’s Donuts (Freeport Ave.)

I was looking for Marie’s Donuts as I had heard some great things about it, but ended up at the wrong Maries! I ended up visiting Marie’s Donuts on Watt Ave. in North Highlands instead. So I reviewed it. If you’d like to see what I thought about that donut shoppe CLICK HERE.

I did, thankfully, finally get to visit the Marie’s Donuts on Freeport Blvd. Marie’s Donuts has been a long time favorite of people in this part of town. The building itself is older, but stand alone from other retail spaces. It has a beautiful retro look with light blue and cream paint. There is no customer entrance, you simply walk up to the window to order what you’d like.

To order, just look through the windows at the donuts on display and select the kinds you’d like. There is plenty of variety and you can see the staff there working to make more in the background.

I found Marie’s Donuts to be excellent. The donuts here are baked fresh and constantly refilled. Just like the other Marie’s Donuts in town, the donuts here are traditional. It’s what you want and expect from a good donut.

All your favorites are here including cake donuts, sprinkles, cream filled, chocolate & maple bars, French crullers, and more.

I found that the donuts here stay totally traditional with nothing really veering from that path. There weren’t exotic flavors to be seen, so if you’re wanting something really different from the norm, this isn’t the place to look.

However, if you want a satisfying donut that you’ll thoroughly enjoy and that will bring back memories of enjoying donuts long past, then Marie’s is just the place for you!
