Guads Tacos & Beer
Guads is located just off of the Campus of UC Davis and provides its customers modern and delicious Mexican food at excellent prices. It’s the perfect place to meet up with some friends and hang out over some good food after a long day of work or studying. Guads features both interior and exterior dining - both are great options to enjoy your time at the restaurant.
You’ll find all your favorites here at Guads. There are burritos, tacos, salads, quesadillas, and even Mexican style breakfasts! There are a lot of options here. Speaking of options, the choices of meats is especially impressive! You can select from asada, pollo, al pastor, adobada, polla adobado, carnitas, chorizo, longaniza, legua, cabeza, tripa, chicharron, barbacoa, carne molida, and chile verde. That is insane! You’re going to have to make multiple visits to Guads if you want to make your way down that list!
If you’re hungry, I’d suggest the super burrito. It’s a burrito filled with your choice of meat, rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The meat inside is tasty and the flavors blend so well together. It’s a hefty beast so this item will satisfy you. If you’re a crazy person you can go for the super giant 3 pound burrito. It’s $20.99 and will surely wreck you.
The tacos at Guads are the traditional Mexican style on a small tortilla. These are tasty bites that you’ll want to order in multiples if you want to satiate your hunger. The simple street tacos are great and topped with the perfect amount of meat. I really enjoyed my chorizo street taco.
The Aggie taco features a generous amount of fried fish on top of a purple tortilla. If you enjoy seafood, this just may be the perfect item to get at Guads. In fact, seafood lovers will appreciate that there are multiple seafood items to order on the menu. Guads has a grilled fish plate and many shrimp options to satisfy your desire for the taste of the sea.
To go with your meal, head over to the salsa and chip bar. You can load up on these complimentary items before your meal even arrives! So make sure not to go to nuts over at this area. The salsas are particularly good as they are all freshly made.
Get yourself a Mexican soda or some suds and your visit will be complete!
It’s no wonder that Guads is so popular in Davis. The food is great as is the atmosphere. The only difficult aspect of Guads is its location. It is very easy for students on campus to access, but if you’re coming in from outside of UC Davis, it can be hard to find a spot to park that is close. I wouldn’t let that deter you though as Guads is certainly worth a visit!

Excellent tasting Mexican food awaits you at Guads. The atmosphere and service are top notch. Guads is a newer restaurant in town, but already one of the top places to eat if you’re craving Mexican food. Check it out and see why all the students go!
