Seasons 52

Seasons 52 is a restaurant that offers some classed up dining that won’t break the bank (too much). It features dishes such as scallops, grilled trout, and pork chops. It’s a gorgeous restaurant that brings its diners a bit of an elevated experience. It’s not on the level of fine dining restaurants, but I appreciate the quality that Seasons 52 brings to their customers. The Seasons 52 in Sacramento is located at Arden Mall, and you can’t miss it as it is one of the restaurants facing the main parking lot.

Seasons 52 is actually a national chain that can be found all over the United States. It’s not as common as something like Chili’s or Applebees. In fact, California only has three of them. One here in Sacramento, one in San Diego, and another in Costa Mesa. The majority of Seasons 52 restaurants can be found in Florida as that is where the chain began. Being one of only three Seasons 52 restaurants is pretty cool as most of the time cities like LA and San Francisco get these types of places.

The food at Seasons 52 are proper entrees done with a refined touch. There’s nothing you’d consider off-the-wall here. You get traditional foods done traditionally. And that’s nice as sometimes the best way to enjoy food is the way it’s supposed to be.

On my visit I had a delicious steak tenderloin salad accompanied by a side of truffle risotto and crab cake. The crab cake was my started and it came with a lemon half and some aioli. The waiter who served us recommended a few other appetizers instead of the crab cake because it was smaller than other appetizers. I thought that was thoughtful of him, but I did want to see what the crab cake was like and was in the mood for one.

The crab cake was a bit small, but it was very tasty and made with real crab. It was as a crab cake should be, and I enjoyed it. It was pricy at $16, so if you’re looking for a bigger portion, this wouldn’t be the thing to get.

Thankfully, the other things we ordered matched portion with price much better than the crab cake. One of our party ordered the wood-grilled boneless rainbow trout, and it was definitely the best dish of the night. The trout came open with a large portion. The sear on it was exactly as it should be and was accompanied by potatoes and greens.

Another star of the night were the scallops. Scallops are an item that need to be cooked correctly otherwise they become rubbery and inedible. Thankfully, we found the scallops here to be cooked perfectly with a tenderness to them that was just right.

As I stated before, Seasons 52 just does the food the right way. All the things we ate there were clean on the palate and enjoyable.

So if you’re looking to to eat at a place that will impress, Seasons 52 is certainly one to consider.
